Atikokan is known as the Canoeing Capital of Canada because of the Quetico Provincial Wilderness Park just south of the community. There are many outfitters in the area that can help you plan your canoe trip and also view the sacred ancient Pictographs. You can visit the Walleye hatchery, the Centennial Museum, the Native Friendship Center, the Pioneer Center or mining attractions.
